About Us...
Marc Kane - Fellow

Marc Kane is a Fellow with the American Institute for Full Employment specializing in subsidized wage programs and in disability program reform. He joined AIFE in 2005 after serving 34 years in public service in four States where he worked with people with disabilities. Mr. Kane received his BA from St. Benedict's College (Atchison, Kansas) and a Masters in Rehabilitation Administration from the McClaren School of Business at the University of San Francisco.

Mr. Kane served as a director and president in the Oregon Rehabilitation Association where he received the association's Al Ericson Award, for contributing to the advancement of people with disabilities. Mr. Kane guided a number of community programs as an executive in their recognition for best practices. He was appointed by Oregon's past Governor Atieh to the State's Executive Service in 1985 to head one of its State Institutions for people with developmental disabilities. Mr. Kane worked in the State of Colorado during the 1970's in setting standards for community programs for people with disabilities. He has staffed organizations implementing the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, the Jobs Partnership and Training Act and the Work Incentive Act. Throughout his career Mr. Kane has also been recognized for grant development including creative matches of foundation and government resources with community needs. Mr. Kane advanced legislation advocating employment for those challenged with long term unemployment and has been instrumental in program development assisting employers and housing providers with full inclusion of people with disabilities in community life.

Mr. Kane has served on a number of public and private boards which include : Klamath Fire District #1, Klamath Basin Transportation Services District, Klamath Lake Housing Authority, Klamath County Overall Economic Development Committee, Klamath Lake Work Force Quality Council, Klamath Ice Sports, two Lutheran Church Councils, City of North Bend Library Board, South Coast Business Development Corporation, a community day care center and as Colorado's first Co-Chairman of Advocacy for Children and Youth. He is a past president of the Klamath Falls Kiwanis Club and a past Kiawanian of The Year. Since 1994, Mr. Kane has voluteered with the Oregon Children's Foundation's SMART Reading Program.

Mr. Kane participates in continuing education as a workforce professional and has recently completed all requirements for the designation of Workforce Development Master granted by the International Association of Workforce Professionals.
